How we started and Who we are
We started holding events for the community during lockdown. Our first event was Halloween 2020 which was held in Quicksilver park. The event was so well received that we then held a Christmas event in 2020. and continued to hold events at the Quicksilver park.
We are a small group of residents who live in the P20 community, we have set up a not-for-profit organisation called P20 Resident Events. We all care immensely about our community and want to provide affordable events that everyone can attend, We are all volunteers and have families of our own with little happening in our community we felt this needed to be addressed seeing the community coming together and the smiles on children’s faces makes everything we do worthwhile.
what do we do​​
We have grown year on year, and now hold affordable events at Easter, Halloween, Summer, and Christmas at the P20 sports Pavilion. We held our first Summer event in 2023 *Picnic at the pavilion* This was a free to attend event with children’s entertainer Silly Scott and live music to entertain the community along with side stalls, a raffle, and refreshments on sale. All the money taken at our events is used to cover costs, venue hire stock etc. and equipment needed to make the event possible and that will help us to put on better future events. Once these have been deducted the remainder of the money raised is used for the next event.
Where we are now
Having had four new members join us in the last 2 years, we are now a strong team of 8 with varying skills and children of varying ages. All storage & preparation for the events is done in our own homes due to not having a base and somewhere to store the items we need to be able to make these events possible. We will continue to put these events on and hope to bring more events in the future as we continue to grow.
